Elliot Schreiber

Elliot Schreiber is Chairman and CEO of Schreiber & Company, a firm focused on strategy-execution alignment to build and protect perceived value. The firm uses unique processes to help clients find and unlock their market value, and assure that how they execute is consistent with their strategy. The firm also works with companies to identify, assess, and manage risks that might undermine perceived value. In addition to his consulting, Elliot is a co-founder and faculty member of the Directors College, Canada. The Directors College is a joint venture between McMaster University of Canada and the Conference Board of Canada and has granted the coveted Chartered Directors title to about 200 executives and directors. He also founded the Center for Corporate Reputation Management at the LeBow College of Business, Drexel University, Philadelphia, which he lead from 2009-2012. Schreiber is unique in having moved successfully in and out of the corporate, academic and consulting “worlds” during his 30-year career. He began his career as a pharmaceutical sales representative. He then went to graduate school, and after receiving his Ph.D. began his career in 1976 as a faculty member at the University of Delaware. In 1980, he joined the DuPont Company in Wilmington, DE, where he was on the staff of the Chairman’s Office, developing strategy options for the company’s move into pharmaceuticals and electronics, and later headed global marketing communications for DuPont’s pharmaceutical, medical diagnostics, x-ray and electronics businesses.From 1986-1995, he was Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications at Bayer Corporation, Pittsburgh, where he designed and built the company’s North American corporate marketing and communications organizations. In 1995, he moved to Toronto to become Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Communications at Nortel, with global responsibility for all marketing and communications functions. He was a member of the company’s Executive Council and chair of the company’s Global Marketing and Sales Council. He left Nortel in 1999 to become President and Chief Operating Officer of Digital 4Sight, Toronto, an e-business strategy consulting and research firm that worked with major global companies in the build out of Web 1.0. He and his partners sold the firm in 2001 and he returned to teaching and independent consulting.He was a professor at the LeBow College of Business, Drexel University, Philadelphia (2008-2012), the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario (2001-2004), and from 2004-2006 was a visiting professor at Penn State, Syracuse, Temple and Villanova universities. He also was Senior Advisor to the Reputation Institute, New York, where he designed the firm’s consulting practice. Schreiber holds a B.A. from the University of Delaware, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Penn State University. He is the recipient of numerous business awards, and has been a featured speaker at major international business and academic conferences. He is the author of a variety of articles on strategy and risk management in leading business publications. He holds both U.S. and Canadain citizenship.
