Asset protection strategies

Having trouble finding current articles or info regarding strategies that can work if a client is in a high risk environment or is party to a suit or complaint. Also, are there recent rulings that affect use of family ltd partnerships and irrevocable trusts?

Any leads or info would be appreciated.

A friend of mine has a book called "Asset Protection: ...and Legal Strategies..." by Spero. I leafed through it a 18 to 24 months ago and found some of the ideas intriguing. As I recall, the off-shore limited partnership idea was one of their favorites. I know this is all pretty vague; hope it helps.

: Family Limited Partneships help, but are comming under more scrutiny by the IRS. Have to be carefull.
Off Shore Trusts seem to be the best alternative if assets exceed half million. Careful planning of tax activity, good law firm (really experienced) and domicile of trust is important.
One good firm is IFG International located in the Isle of Man.
