BNY Mellon in New York City has hired Jane Sherburne as senior executive vice president and general counsel, effective May 3. She will be a member of the executive committee. Sherburne was a partner in Wilmer Cutler & Pickering, a Washington, D.C.-based law firm, where she served as special counsel to President Bill Clinton.

 


 

Ian MacKenzie has joined the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) as deputy executive director of operations. MacKenzie was chief marketing officer and managing director of business development for the Financial Planning Association (FPA). IMCA and FPA are both based in Denver.

 


 

Life Policy Group in New York City, appointed Mark Engelhardt as chief executive officer. He is founder of Far Hills, N.J.-based LEAF Advisors, a life settlements provider and consulting firm.

 


 

In March, Eileen McDonnell became the first woman president of Horsham, Pa.-based Penn Mutual. McDonnell was also elected to the company's board of trustees. She joined Penn Mutual in 2008 as their executive vice president and chief marketing officer. At that time she was also named board chair of Hornor, Townsend & Kent, Penn Mutual's wholly owned broker-dealer.
