Allianz Life Insurance Co. in Minneapolis named Wayne Hechanova director of distribution marketing. Hechanova previously served as a senior advanced marketing specialist at the firm.

Bank of New York Mellon named Jane Sherburne senior vice president and general counsel. She is also a member of the bank's executive committee. Sherburne had been general counsel at Wachovia Corp., Citigroup and special counsel to former President Bill Clinton.

The CFP Board of Standards in Washington, D.C., appointed Mark Kordes chair of the CFP Board Council on Education. Kordes is the head of wealth planning for the U.S. at UBS Wealth Management in New York City.

Fidelity in Boston promoted Abigail Johnson to president of workplace and institutional services. She currently serves as president of personal and workplace investing at the firm. Fidelity also hired Ronald P. O'Hanley to serve as the head of asset management and corporate services. O'Hanley previously served as president and CEO of BNY Asset Management in New York City.

Hilliard Lyons in Louisville, Ky., named Charles M. Grimley executive VP and CFO. Grimley joined the firm in 1998, and recently served as SVP, controller and acting CFO.
