April has been a busy month move for advisors on the move. Barclays lost advisors teams to Deutsche Bank and Janney Montgomery Scott. An advisor group that managed $670 million in assets at J.P. Morgan Securities left to join Raymond James. But there were other winners and losers, as regional and wirehouse firms scrambled to keep up with each other in the battle for advisor talent.

Janney Montgomery Scott Grabs $1.7M Advisor Team Janney Montgomery Scott Grabs $1.7M Advisor Team

An advisor team that previously managed $214 million and generated $1.7 million in annual revenue has left Barclays to join Janney Montgomery Scott.

The Guggenheimer Zaki team, comprised of Steven Guggenheimer, executive vice president, and George Zakim, vice president, will join Janneyís New York office.

Deutsche Bank Recruits Two from Barclays Deutsche Bank Recruits Two from Barclays

Financial advisor Christopher Guttilla and client analyst Erica Mongello have left Barclays to join Deutsche Bankís wealth management unit at its New York office.

Guttilla has worked in the financial services industry for more than 25 years. He started his career at Rooney, Pace in 1985, according to FINRA documents. He later worked for Oppenheimer & Co. and then PaineWebber, before joining Lehman Brothers in 1999.

Advisor group Cohen Financial Management has joined Raymond James & Associates, the firmís employee broker/dealer channel, from J.P. Morgan Securities, where the group generated annual revenues in excess of $4.2 million.

The Cohen group managed approximately $670 million in client assets while with J.P. Morgan. The advisor team, led by Michael Cohen and his son, Benjamin Cohen, will join Raymond Jamesí Chicago office.

Washington Wealth Management has recruited two advisors from UBS and Wells Fargo, where they collectively managed approximately $150 million in assets.

Former-UBS advisor Morrie Symson is joining Pacific Point Asset Management, a Washington Wealth-affiliated firm based in in Woodland Hills, Calif. Mizrahi, previously with Wells Fargo, is opening his own practice, First Point Financial Management, also in Woodland Hills.

Financial advisor Joseph H. McAuley Jr. has left Wells Fargo to become Bairdís newest branch manager at the firmís Charleston, S.C. office. He is the twelfth addition to Baird so far this year, according to a spokesman for the firm.

Waddell & Reed announced that the firm recently recruited two advisors from J.P. Morgan and Ameriprise Financial.

Financial advisor Hubert Parker managed about $14 million in assets while with Ameriprise. He is joining Waddell & Reedís Tuscon, Ariz. office.

Advisor Mike Watson is joining the regional wealth management firmís office in Edmond, Okla. where he will report to Paul Stanley. Watson managed approximately $50 million in assets while with J.P. Morgan.

Father-and-son advisors James Holder Jr. and James Holder III, along with financial associate Tracie Kanelos, have left Wells Fargo to join Benjamin F. Edwards.

The team will join Benjaminís office in Rome, Ga., raising the total number of advisors there to nine.

The elder Holder started his financial services career at Wachovia in 2000 and stayed through the firmís merger with Wells Fargo. His son joined him at Wachovia in 2006. Kanelos has worked in the financial services industry since 1991.

The Brandstadt & Lambrix Wealth Advisors team has left Raymond James to join Benjamin F. Edwards.

Led by advisors Todd Brandstadt and Deborah Lambrix, the team is opening Benjaminís first office in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Brandstadt, CFP, will be the new officeís branch manager. He is a veteran of the financial services industry, having started his career in 1993 at the Chicago Board of Trade. Lambrix, CFP, is a three-decade veteran of the financial services industry. She teamed with Brandstadt in 2007.
