Goldman Sachs Asset Management†is currently prepping an alternative mutual multi-manager fund to launch in 2013.
According to a†Securities and Exchange Commission†filing, the fund will employ alternative strategies including equity long/short, event driven, relative value, tactical trading, and opportunistic fixed income. Its managers will have exposure to master limited partnerships, real estate investment trusts, European investment companies, mortgage-backed and other mortgage related securities, and currencies.
GSAMís Alternative Investments & Manager Selection group is responsible for hiring and firing the fundís managers, as well as the fundís asset allocations. The fundís portfolio manager is†Jason Gottlieb, head of the AIMS Global Manager Strategies group, and†Ryan Roderick, managing director in the AIMS group.
As of June 30, GSAM had assets under management of $716.1 billion.
