Philadelphia-based Janney Montgomery Scott has hired George Keith to be senior vice president and complex manager of the firm’s Darien, Connecticut, complex.

There, he will oversee the expansion of the firm’s presence in Connecticut and preside over offices in Fairfield, Glastonbury and West Hartford.

A 35-year industry veteran, Keith started his career at Touche Ross and joined Paine Webber in 1980. He was most recently a President and COO of a Connecticut-based investment firm.

“George is well respected in the region for his industry experience and reputation as a strong leader,” regional manager Christopher Wilkinson, to whom Keith will report, said. “We’re excited to add another high-quality member to our team as we continue to capitalize on opportunities for growth within our existing footprint.”

Keith represents the firm’s 32nd hire this year as it looks to grow a number of offices and recently added The Great South Advisory Group, formerly known as The Palmetto Group, from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management as well as a new regional manager in the Southeast.
