Two veteran Cincinnati-based Smith Barney advisors have jumped to Merrill Lynch.

Emerson Knowles and Joseph Spicer moved to Merrill’s branch, which is also in Cincinnati. The pair previously managed $226 million in client assets and generated $2.2 million in fees and commissions.

Knowles began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1979. He has been at Smith Barney (or its predecessor firms) since 1982, according to his profile on Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s website.

Spicer has 23 years of industry experience, including almost a decade at UBS and six years at Smith Barney, according to FINRA filings.
