Money Funds Drop $2.5 Billion

Total money market mutual fund assets decreased by $2.54 billion to $2.575 trillion for the week ended Wednesday, according to data from the Investment Company Institute.

Taxable government funds decreased by $2.12 billion, taxable non-government funds decreased by $430 million, and tax-exempt funds increased by $10 million.

Institutional money market funds’ assets also dropped by $4.66 billion to $1.685 trillion. But on the retail front, money market funds increased by $2.12 billion to $890.22 billion.
