UBS Wealth Management Americas has snagged a Merrill Lynch team in Cincinnati with more than $1 billion in client assets under management.

The three-member advisor team includes Robert Anning, Sr., John Anning and Tollie Chavis and operates under the name the Anning Group. The team previously had more than $3 million in fees and commissions.

The team has been registered with UBS since Nov. 20, according to their public registration records with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Robert Anning spent 34 years at Merrill Lynch, according to his FINRA registration records, while his son John Anning was with Merrill Lynch for 15 years. Tollie Chavis was at Merrill Lynch for more than 25 years.

The team’s hire comes as UBS recently picked up another trio of advisors, this time from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, in Aventura, Fla.

UBS said in its most recent third quarter earnings that its financial advisor headcount totaled 7,032.
