William Blair and Co. announced Wednesday it named Ryan J. Devore director of Private Client Advisors (PCA).

In this new position, Devore will report to the head of PCA, Dick Kiphart. Kiphart said he looks forward to Ryan's leadership on the PCA team.

"His management and business development background will greatly enhance our already-strong private client business in Chicago," Kiphart said in a statement.

Devore joins William Blair with 16 years of experience in the retail wealth management industry, the last nine of which were at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

In his most recent role at MSSB, as Northern Colorado complex manager, Devore was responsible for four branches offices with 105 advisors and more than $8.2 billion in assets.
