Baird has recruited Denise Wypiszenski, the former director and chief operating officer of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s western division, as its new chief operating officer of private wealth management.
Wypiszenski spent 15 years at Smith Barney, starting as a financial advisor in Omaha before moving into branch and sales management. In her newly-created role at Milwaukee-based Baird she will be responsible for supporting the firm’s 650 advisors, as well as recruiting. Baird has added nearly 100 advisors this year, including a veteran team from MSSB in North Carolina last week.
“I was attracted to Baird by the caliber and sincerity of the people, the Midwestern values they embody and their obvious pride at being part of an independent, employee-owned firm,” said Wypiszenski, in a statement.
