Baird recruited three advisors, including a father-son team from UBS that managed $170 million in client assets.
Former UBS advisors Patrick Cook and his son Nathan this week joined Baird's Houston office, where they report to Craig Young, director of the firm's Houston market.
The senior Cook started his financial services career at Merrill Lynch in 1984, according to FINRA documents. He had been with UBS since 1991. The younger Cook joined his father at UBS in 2006.
A third advisor, David Himebaugh, left Wells Fargo Advisors to join Baird as senior vice president at the firm's office in Spokane, Wash. A Baird spokesman declined to provide production or AUM figures for Himebaugh, who reports to Branch Manager Tom Guthrie.
Himebaugh, a 27-year industry veteran, had been with Wells Fargo since 2009. Previously, he had been with Smith Barney.
The Milwaukee-based Baird added the Spokane office last year when it acquired a Seattle-based broker-dealer, McAdams Wright Ragen. That acquisition added to Baird about 80 advisors plus six offices in Washington and one in Portland, Ore.
With these latest additions, Baird has about 800 advisors serving clients from 80 offices in 26 states. The firm said it had added more than 325 advisors and branch managers since 2010.
