An LPL firm has hired a new recruiting chief to target advisors from the wirehouse and broker-dealer channels.
Financial services veteran Louis Hanna joined Tampa, Fla.-based Independent Financial Partners, as its new director of recruiting. Hanna arrives at IFP with 25 years in the financial services industry that includes holding senior level positions with Conduit Advisors, ING Furman Selz, Corigin Holdings, Paradigm Multi-Strategy Funds and American Independence Funds.
In addition to experience with advisor consulting and recruiting, he also marketed asset management strategies to IBDs and RIAs while at American Independence Funds from 2006 to 2009 in addition to managing its wholesaler sales force.
A statement from IFP, which offers securities through independent broker-dealer giant LPL, says the move to bring in Hanna is designed to "significantly increase" recruiting efforts with a major focus on the wirehouse advisors. Hanna will be focusing on advisors and firms with between $50 million and $250 million in assets under management.
We plan to significantly increase our recruiting efforts throughout the remainder of this year and into 2015, William Hamm, chief executive of IFP, said in the statement. Much of our focus will be on continuing to grow IFPs hybrid RIA platform, which means servicing and supporting existing IFP advisors as well as recruiting and attracting new advisors from wirehouses, regional and independent broker-dealers and small to mid-size RIA firms."
IFP has more than $5.2 billion in total client assets under management and over $30 billion in total assets under advisement. The company added 50 advisors to its network last year to bring the total above 500 nationwide.
