Assets held in exchange-traded funds increased 7.3% to $739 billion in November from a month earlier, according to data released Tuesday by State Street Global Advisors.
As of Nov. 30, there are 802 exchange-traded funds in the United States managed by 30 providers, according to the State Street Corp. unit.
Barclays Global Investments, State Street, and Vanguard Group remain the three largest ETF providers nationally in November. Barclays had $361.4 billion in ETF assets under management as of Nov. 30, which represented 48.9% of the industry total. Barclays completed the sale of its exchange-traded fund business to BlackRock Inc. at the beginning of this month, which means BlackRock is now the largest ETF provider.
As of Nov. 30, State Street had $174.0 billion in assets under management, or 23.5% market share, and Vanguard had $87.9 billion, or 11.9% share.
The largest exchange-traded fund remained State Street’s SPDR S&P 500 ETF, which had $72.2 billion in assets, or 9.8% share.
