Low 2014 Issuance Will Rival Worst in Decade, Bond Dealers Say

Bond dealers expect 2014 to be the second-worst year for municipal issuance in a decade, and some predict the lowest volume since 2000, as the Federal Reserve's tapering program pushes interest rates higher.

As of now, both the topics viz whether the US economy has turned the corner and whether interest rates are going to go up or remain static , are a matter of intense debate. One needs to keep a close eye on both of these to get a sense of where we are headed.
