Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has hired three financial advisors from RBC Capital Markets and UBS Financial Services in Connecticut and South Dakota.
In Stamford, Conn., Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has hired Jonathan Lake, who will focus on institutional business. Lake joins from RBC, where he previously had $1.32 million in annual fees and commissions.
Before joining RBC in 2006, Lake had also been registered with firms including Corby Capital Markets, Constitution Capital Corp. and Merit Capital Associates Inc., according to his registration records with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Lake reports to Stamford, Conn. branch manager Douglas Fodor. The Stamford, Conn. branch is part of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Southern Connecticut Complex led by Jim Gold.
In Rapid City, S.D., Edward Cook and Robert Hall, the Cook & Hall Wealth Management Team, join Morgan Stanley Smith Barney from UBS. Cook and Hall previously had $1.2 million in combined annual fees and commissions. They report to Billings, MT complex manager Gary Nichols.
Cook joined UBS in 2006, according to his registration records with FINRA, and previously held positions at Piper Jaffray & Co. and Wedbush Morgan Securities Inc. Hall had also been registered with UBS since 2006, FINRA records show, and was employed before that at Piper Jaffray.
