New Income Fund from WisdomTree

By Matt Ackermann
May 21, 2008

WisdomTree Investments Inc. said Tuesday that it had introduced an actively managed, exchange-traded fund.

The WisdomTree U.S. Current Income Fund is to invest in money market securities and have an expense ratio of 0.25%. Mellon Capital is to subadvise the portfolio.

Money market funds typically hold high-quality, short-term debt — such as Treasury bills — and are typically used for capital preservation. The new portfolio is to seek current income while preserving capital and maintaining liquidity by investing primarily in very short-term, high-quality, money market instruments.

WisdomTree has $4.9 billion of assets under management.
