Several Raymond James advisors were promoted in management and regional shakeups, according to the broker-dealer.

Dominic Prioli, who has spent nearly all of his 16 years in the industry with Raymond James, was tapped to direct the firm’s Great Lakes division. He takes over from Bill Roney, who is retiring after more than 40 years in financial advisory.

The Great Lakes practice will also become part of a greater Midwestern division that is still being headed by John Kuklenski, a 31-year industry veteran who most recently joined Raymond James in 2004, according to Finra broker records.

The firm noted that other state practices are also being rolled into larger divisions: Oregon and Washington will join 11 other states, from Louisiana west to California, under the Western division, while the Coastal region of the firm’s Eastern division will now include much of western Florida.

Raymond James president Tash Elwyn says Roney’s “decision to retire this year drove part of the reorganization, specifically the succession planning opportunity with Dominic Prioli.

“RJA is focused on succession planning for our advisors and leadership alike to ensure we continue to preserve our firm's culture while preparing the next generation for greater responsibilities,” Elwyn adds.

The Western division will continue to be led by 35-year-veteran Patrick Allison and regional director Tommy Orr, who has over 39 years in advisory experience. The firm is searching for a regional director in California.

Raymond James’ Southern division will remain under the leadership of Dick Ferguson, who has been in the industry for the past 26 years, while his co-head Bill Geary will now oversee the firm’s Jackson, Miss., complex. Retaining their regional director roles are Jim Hamilton, Van Thompson and Michael Turnbough.

The Eastern division remains under the oversight of Ira Federer, who has spent much of his 34-year career with Raymond James, while the North Atlantic region remains under Tom Galvin, who has been with the firm since 1998. Joining them in senior management is Patrick O’Connor, who becomes the Coastal region’s director after leading the firm’s Wealth, Retirement and Portfolio solutions group.
