UBS Wealth Management Americas hired Paul Cohen in its Beverly Hills office from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. In his new position, he will report to David Bigler, complex director. The 30-year industry veteran, had assets under management of $95.7 million, and trailing-12 production of $1.1 million.

UBS also hired Kenneth Montal in its Paramus, NJ office. He also joins from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, and will report to branch manager Brian Cain. Montal has $125 million in assets under management, and trailing-12 production of about $894,000.

Meanwhile, David Deitch and Tiffany Rosek joined UBS from Merrill Lynch in Charlotte. Deitch had assets of $130 million and production of $736,000. Rosek had assets of $20.6 million and production of $94,000.  They will both report to branch manager Ron Fleischman.

Last month, UBS hired a team of three advisors from MSSB in its Los Angeles operation. That included Roger Stephens, Dan Rothenberg and Theodore Fisher. The team had $2.1 billion in assets under management and a trailing 12-month production of $5.2 million.

UBS has embarked on a long-term strategy to re-position itself as a smaller wirehouse with a boutique feeling. It has said that it will focus mostly on the larger metro areas.
