Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank made two senior appointments in the Seattle area in its ultra-high-net-worth-business.

Mary Welk was appointed managing director of client advisory for the unit, Ascent Private Capital Management. In that new role, Welk will serve as the primary point of contact for ultra-high-net-worth clients in Seattle and coordinate an integrated team of professionals who serve these clients, the company said in a press release.

Welk brings more than 25 years of experience assisting ultra-high-net-worth families, the company said. She joined U.S. Bank in 2010 as managing director of trust, and then served as managing director, wealth management advisor, before accepting the position with Ascent. Prior to joining U.S. Bank, she served as CEO of a large family office.

Ascent also named Lance Losey managing director of wealth strategy. In that role, Losey will provide multigenerational planning, family governance and trust and fiduciary advisory services to the ultra-high-net-worth clients of Ascent. He will be supported by a national advisory team that provides wealth impact planning, financial administration and exceptional client experience in the Pacific Northwest.

Before joining Ascent, Losey was a partner and chairman of an estate planning and probate practice group within a Seattle law firm.

Ascent Private Capital Management deals with families with $25 million or more in investable assets. In addition to traditional wealth management services, such as financial planning, investment management and private banking, Ascent also offers “wealth impact” services aimed at helping wealthy families with family governance, family dynamics, and multigenerational wealth planning and education.
