Wescott Financial Advisory Group, a Coral Gables., Fla., based wealth manager, hired Joseph P. Nader as a managing director and senior financial advisor in Wescott's Coral Gables office.

Nader has worked in Miami since 2000. Most recently, he was chief investment officer and co-operating head for Coral Gables Trust.. Before that, he worked at JPMorgan Private Bank in Miami , where he managed $1 billion for clients in Latin and Central America.

Prior to moving to Miami, he was based in his native Colombia for five years as a director in the international capital markets and corporate banking and finance division of Citibank.

Nader joins Wescott's Miami office as it continues the expansion of its 15-year presence in the South Florida market.  Wescott has also expanded in other markets, including Philadelphia and San Francisco, by adding staff and expanding its client base and assets under management.

Wescott's strategy is to hire "subject matter experts" as financial advisors to advance the plan that Wescott founder and CEO Grant Rawdin developed when he founded the firm in 1987. Built upon his background as a tax and business attorney, he and his partners have built the firm on client referrals and through strategic partnerships with other firms.

"Joe is a brilliant strategist whose knowledge and understanding of investments and wealth management helps Wescott grow all segments of its business in South Florida and beyond," Rawdin said. "He is an important part of the next step in executing our strategic plan, moving Wescott forward. We expect to add other stars like him to our team."

Wescott, which has offices in Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boca Raton, Fla., and Miami, has 325 clients and $1.6 billion in assets under management.

"Wescott is the next logical step for me because it allows me to build on my experience with personal and business clients," Nader said. "I feel very comfortable with the firm's culture of entrepreneurship and welcome the opportunity to be part of the firm's progression."
