Who's News: UBS Snags Anning Group from Merrill

UBS has snagged the Anning Group, including Robert Anning, Sr., John Anning and Tollie Chavis, from Merrill Lynch. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the team managed more than $1 billion in assets.

Former Morgan Stanley advisor Baron C. Becker joined Baird as a vice president of a new Portland, Maine, office and most recently had $60 million in assets.

Also from Morgan Stanley, John N. Dorsey joins Raymond James as senior vice president and branch manager of a new Huntington, W.Va., office. He previously oversaw $215 million in client assets.

Merrill Lynch hired 10 advisors from competing wirehouse firms who previously managed $1.07 billion in client assets. Six of those hires came from Morgan Stanley, including Jeffrey Wells in Mill Valley, Calif., who managing $264 million in client assets. The hires also included a three-member team from UBS and one advisor from Wells Fargo.

The team of Bill Duncan and Ziv Ohel jumped from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management to join Ameriprise in Deerfield, Ill.

Wells Fargo extended its summer hiring spree with 24 new financial advisor hires managing a total of $2.2 billion in assets, including the team of Andrew Siegel, Nickolaus Roeschley and William Kulesh in Scottsdale, Ariz., who had $231 million in assets at Morgan Stanley.
