Raymond James & Associates recruited three advisors from Wells Fargo who managed about $160 million in client assets, the firm says.
Advisors Vic Philleo, Chris Holladay and Kim Henderson joined Raymond James' office in Virginia Beach, Va. They now operate as Waterfront Advisory group.
Philleo said that they made the move because they craved a different workplace culture.
"We wanted to find a firm where we felt more like family instead of just employees, and where integrity was a handshake instead of a bunch of documents," he said, in a released statement.
All three advisors worked at A.G. Edwards and stayed on after that firm's merger with Wells Fargo.
Philleo, who has more than two decades of industry experience, once managed an A.G. Edwards' office in Virginia Beach before stepping down from his supervisory role after the merger, according to Raymond James. Prior to becoming an advisor, Philleo served as a naval flight officer.
Also moving with the team is Marie Lawrence, client associate.
Raymond James currently has more than 6,500 independent and employee financial advisors. The St. Petersburg, Fla.-based firm has approximately $504 billion in total client assets.
