Citi has teamed up with professional networking site LinkedIn to create a new online community aimed at helping women advance in their careers.

The community, called Connect: Professional Women’s Network, will provide content and news on topics including finding success, creating new businesses and balancing work and life. The group is also aimed at helping the female professional audience connect with other female professionals, network and share their experiences.

The new LinkedIn community will also send out a LinkedIn Today Special Edition daily to its members that will draw from more than 300,000 active publishers involved with LinkedIn Today.

The move is not the first initiative that Citi has launched targeting women. The international bank also has a financial education site for women named Women & Co. that was established more than 10 years ago. The new LinkedIn group will also integrate content from that site.

“[The] experience and insights gleaned about what women strive for, together with LinkedIn’s unique position as a leading professional network, will make for an unprecedented and valuable partnership to the benefit of women in the workplace,” Vanessa Colella, managing director and head of North America marketing at Citi, said in a statement.
