Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has hired nine financial advisors from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, LPL Financial and RBC Capital Markets.

In Tampa, Fla., a three-member team including Marc Walters, Todd Austin and Sean Weber join from Merrill Lynch. Together, the team, which operates under the name Walters Team, had $450 million in client assets under management and $5.3 million in annual fees and commissions. They have been registered with the firm since Nov. 18, and report to branch manager Jacob Heron.

In Red Bank, N.J., another three-member team also joins from Merrill Lynch, including John Alex, Jose Pietri and Thomas Laughlin. Together, they previously oversaw $200 million in client assets and had $1.68 million in annual fees and commissions. They have been registered with the firm since Nov. 15, and report to complex manager Chris Shaw.

In Houston, Joseph Neuhaus and Karen Jankowski, who operate as the Neuhaus team, join from RBC. Together, they had $284 million in client assets under management and $1.87 million in annual production. They have been registered with the firm since Nov. 18, and report to complex manager Lisa Cregan.

In Toledo, Ohio, Philip Noble joins from LPL. Noble previously oversaw $116 million in client assets and had $1.32 million in annual fees and commissions. Noble has been registered with the firm since Nov. 16, and reports to branch manager Scott Brown.
