WASHINGTON — The death of Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., threw the fate of regulatory reform legislation into doubt Monday, just days after lawmakers concluded a grueling two-week conference process.
While the House is still expected to pass the final bill soon, it was unclear when the Senate would act, or whether Democrats still had enough support to enact it.
